WHAT WE DO

We seek to involve our congregation in fostering relationships with fellow Christians through small groups for any age, youth groups for middle and high school, VBS, Choir, Bus Ministry, and our senior ministry, the Hilltoppers.

WHAT WE BELIEVE

Palmersville Baptist Church exists to love God and others by helping people Discover God’s Love, Develop God’s Love, and Demonstrate God’s Love.

WHAT WE HOPE

Our church exists to point people to Christ. Our hope is that your experience with us will not only lead you into a relationship with Christ, but also a

deeper and more intimate

relationship with the Savior.

WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT?

Just come as you are, the most important thing is that you came. Grab a seat, don't worry about which one - just wherever you are comfortable.

STATEMENT OF FAITH

1. We believe in the Scriptures of the Old and New Testament as verbally inspired by God and inerrant, and that it is of supreme and final authority in faith and life. They are to be daily read and practiced by all believers. (II Timothy 3:16-17; II Peter 1:20-21; Psalm 119:11).

2. We believe in one God, eternally existing in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (II Corinthians 13:14; Matthew 28:19).

3. We believe that Jesus Christ was begotten by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, and is true God and true man (John 1:1-18;Luke 1:26-35).

4. We believe in the Genesis account of creation, rejecting any other account such as evolution; that man was created in the image of God; that he sinned and thereby incurred, not only physical death, but also spiritual death, which is separation from God; and that all human beings are born with a sinful nature, and are totally depraved, and that they must be born again to be accepted of God (Romans 5:12; 3:9-23; John 3:1-21).

5. We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins, according to the Scriptures, as a substitutionary Sacrifice; and that all who believe in Him are justified on the ground of His shed blood, and saved by grace through faith wholly apart from Human merit and works (I Cor. 15:3-4; Hebrews 9:22; Romans 5:8-9; Ephesians 2:8-9; Titus 3:5).

6. We believe in the resurrection of our Lord, in His ascension into Heaven, and in His present life there for us, as High Priest and Advocate (I Cor. 15:3-4; Acts 1:9-11; Heb. 4:14-16; I John 2:1-20).

7. We believe that all who by repentance and faith receive the Lord Jesus Christ are born again of the Holy Spirit, and thereby become children of God; that they are indwelt and sealed by the Holy Spirit, and are so secured unto the day of redemption (John 1:12-13; I Cor. 6:19-20; Ephesians 1:13-14; 4:30).

8. We believe that for the person who receives the Lord Jesus Christ as his Savior, Baptism is an ordained testimony portraying the believer's union with Christ in His death, burial and resurrection. We believe that Jesus Christ instituted the Lord's Supper to commemorate His death till He comes (John 1:12-13; Acts 2:41; I Cor. 11:23-26).

9. We believe that a visible church of Christ is a congregation of baptized believers, observing the ordinances of Christ, and exercising the gifts, rights and privileges invested in them by His Word; that its only Scriptural officers are pastors and deacons, whose qualifications and duties are defined in the Word of God (Matt. 18:17; 28:20; I Cor. 1:1-13; Acts 2:41-42; Titus 1; I Cor. 11:2; I Timothy 3; Acts 6:3).

10. We believe that the Scriptures clearly teach every believer to live a life of separation unto the Lord from all worldly and sinful practices; to abide in Christ and to walk in the Spirit (Romans 12:1-2; II Cor. 6:4-7; I John 2:15-17; Col. 3:1-17).

11. We believe in the bodily resurrection of the just and the unjust, the everlasting blessedness of the saved and the everlasting punishment of the lost (John 5:28-29; Revelations 20:4-6; 11-15; II Thess. 1:6-9; Rev. 21:1-8; Matt. 25:41-46).

12. We believe that civil government is of divine appointment; and that magistrates are to be prayed for, conscientiously honored, and obeyed, except only in things opposed to the will of our Lord Jesus Christ who is the only Lord of the conscience and the Prince of the Kings of the earth (Rom. 13:1-7; Matt. 22:21; Acts 5:29; Matt. 23:10).

13. We believe that every human being has direct relations with God, and is responsible to God alone in all matters of all faith; that each church is independent and autonomous, and must be free from any interference by ecclesiastical or political authority; that, therefore, the church and state must be kept separate as having different functions, each fulfilling its duties free from dictation and patronage of the other.
